Home To My Favorite Ice Cream Stop!
Most Texans consider Blue Bell a basic food group, and in my humble unbiased opinion, it is the best ice cream on the planet!
Lucky for me I only live an hour from the creamery, and have taken their tour several times. For whatever reason, it never gets old watching ice cream being made, especially when there is free ice cream at the end!
Well, it’s 101 degrees outside, so I think I’ll get me a Blue Bell Cream Pop out of the freezer and go sit on the patio.
TRAVEL PHOTOS, TRIVIA, & TIPS:
Blue Bell Creamery’s hours of operation:
Open Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, but check this link as they sometime have special hours.
The creamery can get busy when schools are in session.
Check hours if you are visiting after Labor Day, or if there are tours available (1-800-327-8135).
Don’t forget your free ice cream at the end of the tour!
If you don’t have time to take a tour, you can still visit the Ice Cream Parlor and Country Store.
Happy Trails!

Thanks, Pit! I’ve been neglecting my Reader working on this new blog site. How is life in beautiful Fredericksburg going?
You’re welcome. Re the reader: I know how much work a blog can be, especially when you start a new, self-hosted one. Life in beautiful Fredericksburg is going fine. We’ve nearly finished moving here. Only 2 of our 4 cats plus quite a bit of small knick-knacks are still in Karnes City. And here we’ve started building a garage. Maybe you’ll find the time to visit my blog some time soon. There’s a lot of pictures of the house and the property there, plus videos of our (wet weather) creek after a good rain, and, of course, pictures and videos of the beginnings of our garage.
Have a good one, stay cool, and enjoy the ice cream,
Pit
I’ve already took a quick glance today, Pit, and will soon be back to visit. 🙂 Fredericksburg is by far one of my favorites places in Texas. Have been there many times, and always love to read about the region. You and your wife are lucky to live there. Continued good luck with the move.
If you ever come to Fredericksburg again, you need to come by. Just give us a shout.
Thanks for the good wishes re our move. 🙂
Will Do!
I love Blue Bell!! we go to the store and try all the new flavors one a week in the small pints.
LOL, don’t give Mike any ideas! 😉
