Resource Page: Glamping, Camping, & Boating Groups

GROUPS & ORGANIZATIONS:

Following is a list of organizations and groups the Padilly’s have found helpful and fun. We think you will find this resource helpful, too!

Groups passionate about Casita Travel Trailers:

Casita Club ~ Join to meet other Casita owner’s and become part of the Casita Family, including forums, articles, classifieds, etc.

Casita Owners ~ A great Facebook page of Casita owners, and wannabe’s, who share trip and makeover photos, and ask and answer questions on all things about Casita’s and RVing in general. As a Casita owner, I have truly enjoyed reading the posts on this site, which include so many creative ideas on ways to update your Casita. Great resource!

Groups passionate about “Tin Can” Travel Trailers:

Shasta Wings Club ~ Facebook group for owners of the 1961 Shasta Airflyte Reissue. This is a great resource site about this limited edition Shasta; as an owner, I visit the site often. This is a Closed Group, so you will have to be accepted before you can see posts.

Tin Can Tourists ~ According to their website, “The Tin Can Tourists is an all make and model vintage trailer and motor coach club. Its goal is to promote and preserve vintage trailers and motor coaches through Gatherings and information exchange.” This is one of the oldest groups, which started in 1919. There is a wealth of information here, but to unlock all this organization offers, you must be a member. Mrs. Padilly is a member of Tin Can Tourists. There is also a Facebook Page for this group.

Groups who focus on Glamping activities:

Lou’s Glamping for Beginners – This Facebook page connects you with a wonderful and passionate group of beginning women glampers!  It was the first “glamping” group I joined, and I’ve had so much fun chatting with fellow beginning glampers on this site! While I am no longer a beginner glamper, its such a great resource I’m still a member of this group. (Note: You don’t have to be new to glamping to join, but this is a Closed group, and you need to show some affiliation with camping to join.)

Sister’s on the Fly – A group that organizes anything from Cowgirl College to Cowgirl Caravan camping events across the United States.

Glampers on the Loose – Another great Facebook page full Glamping inspiration! This is a public group.

Bitches with Hitches – Another passionate glamping group. This is a closed group, so you must join to see posts.  The admin of this group is the owner of “Cinderella’s Coach.” A knockout designed 1964 Shasta trailer.  If you are on Pinterest searching for vintage trailers, you probably have seen this trailer!

Groups who focus on Motorhomes:

Winnebago Aspect & Itasca Cambria – This site is not a glamping site, but as owners of an Itasca Cambria, we are members of this group.  There is a lot of useful information that can be applied to many RV units. This is a public group.

Groups who focus on Sailing and Boating:

C-Brats – A site for C-Dory owners to come together in forums and gatherings across the country.

The Great Loop – Completing the Great Loop is a dream of ours. If your are not familiar with this group, and have the same dream, make sure to check them out!

Pocket Yacht and Trailer Sailors – This public group is for those interested in discussion and sharing ideas on small sailboats.

Texas 200 Sailing Club – This public group ” is a cruise-in-company geared toward small sailboats and offers the opportunity to challenge yourself and your boat for 5 or 6 days along approximately 200 miles of the remote South Texas Gulf Coast.” Mr. Padilly has done this one.

S/V Beautiful Dreamer – The Padilly’s NEW Facebook page (2019), documenting their journey on updating this 36 year old Tayana 37, sailing her to Florida in 2020, and places beyond!
