My passions are my glamped travel trailer makeovers, RV living, camping, boating, and roadside attractions.<\/p>\r\n A big change came to the Padilly household in 2019 when we moved to Flordia. So check my channel out and subscribe.<\/p>\r\n Happy Trails,<\/strong><\/span> <\/p>\r\n Many first-time visitors to Mrs. Padilly’s Travels came here to read one of my how-to articles from my popular series on the restoration and glamping makeover of my Casita Travel Trailer, Free Range<\/em>.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\r\n Free Range<\/em> was my farm fresh little brown egg, who kept us safe as we crisscrossed Texas on many camping adventures. I took this\u00a0photo on\u00a0the first day we bought her home, May 2014.<\/p>\r\n If you want to go to the first post in the series,\u00a0click here<\/a>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n In the spring of 2016, we moved back to the country to a place I like to call Texas’ smallest ranch: a whole two acres (2.2 to be exact). \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n This change also led to a new puppy, Roxie (the Schnoxie), and a new trailer I call Miss Roxie<\/em>, a\u00a01961 Shasta Airflyte Reissue (limited edition #1185 \/ 1941). <\/span><\/p>\r\n We didn’t have plans to buy a new travel trailer when we got Roxie, but when we took her on her first camping trip in the Casita, we were shocked at how this little puppy, and all her stuff, took over our space!!!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n The time we had finally come for us to expand our square footage!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n I went trailer shopping the following week and found the Shasta, bringing her home the next day. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n I named my Shasta\u00a0Miss Roxie<\/em>\u00a0in honor of Roxie the Schnoxie.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n The photo above is from Miss Roxie’s<\/em> first camping trip to the Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground at Walt Disney World. This was the longest distance we have traveled with our Shasta, with the round trip totaling about 1,970 miles!<\/p>\r\n This trip included four days of driving and eight nights of camping, and it taught me a lot about my “new” vintage camper; some things were good, and some were not so good.<\/p>\r\n You can visit the first posts in both my makeover series by clicking the links below:<\/p>\r\n Finally, I can’t go without sharing with you<\/strong> He’s a native Texan from Dallas, and we called the town of Montgomery<\/a><\/span> home (birthplace of the Lone Star Flag) until the fall of 2019.
