I created these rocks for an extraordinary trip to an area of Texas I have only seen twice by train, Alpine, Texas.

Alpine is an Amtrak train stop where visitors stop to explore Big Bend National Park, The McDonald Observatory, Marfa lights, and of course, Alpine.

Big Bend Country is what many visitors imagine when they think of Texas. This is partly because of movies such as the 1956 film Giant ~ the Gone with the Wind version of Texas. This is an arid, rugged area with lots of rocks.

I wanted to do something special for this visit, so I decided to create some souvenir rocks with Texas themes that tourists would discover.

The Rock Movement
