Yes, it is true! Mrs. Padilly Moved to Florida!
The world of Mrs. Padilly and my Glampy-Campy, Artsy-Craftsy Lifestyle & Travel Blog for Living Life in the Outdoors ~ Texas Style. is now in FLORIDA!
As a fifth-generation Chicago native who moved to Texas in 1979, I’ve become a Texan at heart and began traveling and writing under the pen name Mrs. Padilly back in 2012.
Overall these years, I have been sharing my love for Texas, but in the Fall of 2019, the Padilly’s moved to Florida! I almost can’t believe it myself!
This is a big change that is reaching into every corner of my world, including this blog!
But don’t worry, I’m still working on the makeover of my 1961 Shasta Airflyte Reissue and then onto other projects geared to living life in the outdoors. What’s changing is how and where I am sharing this information.
To start:
This site, which started it all, will remain as is, but I will be sending out Quarterly Newsletters that include any new projects added to this site directly linked to their pages. I’ll also include news updates on any other interesting things I have been up to.
For those of you who have been with me for a while, this format may feel like a big change.
In the past, if I made a new post, you immediately received it in your email. With this new format, you will receive four email newsletters a year; this one is your January 2020 edition, which includes all I’ve been up to the last few months.
I think you will find the new format very useful. With the quarterly newsletter, you will no longer receive emails for every project or travel I make, some of which you may not be personally interested in. Instead, you can read my summaries and link directly to the content that interests you most with each email newsletter.
Did I hear you say you still want to hear more from me? 😉
Well, this is where another big change is taking place. For those interested in the more personal and creative side of Mrs. Padilly, I’m building my personal blog, MrsPadillys.com, to do just that.
I share my art, craft, books, and travels on this site on a more intimate level. The plan is to post once or twice a month. If this interests you, please visit MrsPadillys.com and sign-up to receive updates in your email every time I post!
Still need more, or don’t like getting emails at all?
If you are on Instagram, you can reach me THREE ways!
www.instagram.com/MrsPadilly – where I share photos on my travels and whereabouts across Florida, along with a new focus on visiting Disney World (I live 40 minutes away).
I started going to Disney in the 1970s, and have been an out-of-state visitor over 30 times! Now that I’m a resident, I’m going at least once a month. With so much history as an out-of-state Disney visitor, I’m going to make my focus – Then and Now. It should be fun.
www.instagram.com/PadillyBooks – my newest project, and one I am really excited about. On this Instagram page, I will be sharing images and art from children’s books I have been working on (two for over a decade).
Padilly Books is a big dream of mine being realized, and one I myself cannot believe is finally coming true. However, in addition to sharing images on Instagram, I will also post what’s going on with Padilly Books on my personal blog, MrsPadillys.com. My main genre is children’s books, so you will certainly want to follow along if you have a little one in the house.
www.instagram.com/sv_beautifuldreamer – this is a joint Instagram I share with Mr. Padilly. We (I should say Him) are working on preparing our 1983 Tayana 37′ sailboat, Beautiful Dreamer, for a Gulf crossing from her lifelong home in Kemah, Texas, to Tampa, Florida. (Yes, this is one of the reasons we now live in Florida.) This is a big new adventure and Mr. Padilly’s biggest dream. Once Beautiful Dreamer is in Tampa, we will start sharing our adventures along the Florida coast and Keys.
So as you have just read, a lot has been going on. If that isn’t enough, or maybe too much, you may want to follow my Facebook Page, www.facebook.com/MrsPadilly. This is the ONE location that ties together all that is happening on my social media platforms.
In closing, it has been said that change is good, but it has also been said…
You can take a Texan out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of a Texan.
Yehaw! 😉
Happy Trails and Happy New Year!
Mrs. Padilly

I like that this year some of my friends are pursuing their dreams as you are. I wish you all the very best with your new endeavor!!
Well, then people must be feeling really good about 2020! New year, new decade, new starts! Thanks, GP! 🙂
Sounds good to me!
Now what a surprise! Enjoy your (new) life in Florida!
As to the new format: I don’t have any problems with the change and I’m looking forward to your quarterly newsletters.
All the best in 2020,
Pit
Yeah, it still feels like I’m on vacation here, and I’m going to return to Texas soon. LOL. Thank for your feedback on the format. Best to you and my favorite place in the State of Texas! 🙂
