SHASTA MAKEOVER COMPLETE!

Oh my, Traveler, where has the summer gone? Fall is officially a few weeks away, and my Shasta Makeover is finally complete!

But before I update you on the latest news in this quarter’s e-Letter, I wanted to let my subscribers know you have a chance to win a FREE copy of my travel journal, “Happy Camper.”  Look for details at the end of this post! To jump right to it, click here.

Bye-Bye Miss Roxie

The biggest news for summer is that the makeover of Shasta, Miss Roxie, was finally completed, and now I am selling her!

You heard me right. I’m selling my Shasta.

This decision comes with very mixed emotions but our move to Florida has me on the water more than in the campgrounds. Poor Miss Roxie has not been on one camping trip since moving here!

In my opinion, a travel trailer should never live its life in constant storage — they need to be used and enjoyed!  If a travel trailer is not being used, it is time to sell it to someone who will!

Adding a Name to Your Trailer?

Naming your travel trailer is one of the highlights of glamping your trailer!

Unfortunately, this process doesn’t always go as planned.

If you are on your way to giving your trailer a name, you may want to read my latest post: “Adding a name to your travel trailer? Read this first!

Fiberglass Travel Trailers vs. Tin Cans:

One of my last posts on my Shasta makeover is comparing my Shasta against my beloved Casita.  While these are two lightweight travel trailers, their styles couldn’t be more different, and each trailer has its own pros and cons.

Shasta’s Makeover Reveal:

My last post on my Shasta will be her Makeover Reveal, which I will announce to you in my Fall e-Letter.

Until my final “Reveal” post, you can read the rest of my articles on my Shasta via the links below:

Is Mrs. Padilly Quiting Camping?

Since I am selling my Shasta, you may be wondering if I am no longer camping?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!  I LOVE CAMPING!

However, it is time to make adjustments to our new Florida lifestyle.

Cambria at Davis Mountains State ParkPossibly unknown to many of you, we have a C-class Itasca Cambria motorhome. She is our main form of long-distance transportation and provides a comfortable home base has we boat Florida’s many springs, rivers, bays, and seas.

But in case you are wondering, I wouldn’t be Mrs. Padilly if I didn’t glamp her, too! And I do!

Look for my link in my Fall e-Letter on my post: “Should you Glamp a Motorhome? You Bet!”

Although I will not be tearing out walls, or painting cabinets (this motorhome is newer, with beautiful cabinets and a well-designed interior), I will be adding some bling to make her my own.

What’s Next Mrs. Padilly?

Boating! In its many forms: sailing, motor boating, and kayaking. Plus Camping!

In fact, this September I’ll be taking a writing retreat at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground.  I’m going to tuck myself in the woods, in a place that sparks my imagination, and hopefully make much-needed progress on a book I have been working for a few years.

What’s the book about? Mrs. Pailly’s Travels, of course! 😉

Hopefully, I can make good progress during this retreat so I can release the book by year’s end.

Until then, I wish you all well during these difficult times of uncertainty and COVID and hope you are all healthy, safe, and happy.

Happy Trails, Y’all!

  1. Nice makeover. My husband and I are just starting to think about traveling by RV in our retirement – so cliche, but there you have it. Lol. Thanks for sharing so much of your experience. 🙂

    • Thank you. Retirement is a great time to start, and you can travel long term!

We are “semi-retired” and will be able to take our FIRST multi-month trip next summer. It will be a very different experience from my typical weekly (or just a few days) of camping. I’m so looking forward to that!

      Happy Trails!

I Love To Hear From My Readers!
